About lookup: one access point for OEREB extracts
Every canton runs its own OEREB cadastre with its own geoportal. lookup puts one interface in front of all of them: enter an address, lookup finds the parcel's EGRID and opens the extract from the right canton.
What you get for a parcel
- OEREB extract as PDF
- DATA extract as XML or JSON, often not offered in the public portals
- A link to the canton's own OEREB viewer and geoportal
- Parcel zone, area and municipality
- Year of construction, building footprint, number of floors and precise parcel coordinates
Why use lookup instead of a geoportal
- One standardized access point despite different cantonal systems
- Automatic EGRID lookup from an address
- Extract links that are hard to find in some cantonal portals
- Runs in the browser, no installation
Typical uses
Site assessments, checking which restrictions apply before a purchase or a project, and retrieving extracts the same way in every canton.

Frequently asked questions
What is an OEREB extract?
An OEREB cadastre extract lists the public-law restrictions on ownership that apply to a specific Swiss parcel, such as zoning, protected zones, noise limits and contaminated sites, drawn from official cantonal and federal registers.
Which cantons does lookup cover?
lookup links to the OEREB extract services of all 26 cantons. It works out the parcel's canton and opens the extract straight from that canton's own OEREB cadastre.
Is the extract from lookup legally binding?
The official extract issued by the cantonal OEREB service is the legally binding document. lookup helps you find and open it quickly but does not replace the certified extract.
